Daily Bible Readings:  Short daily readings, useful for your daily prayer, provided by the community Taize, are available for January. Sheets available by the prayer candles in each church.

Help with administration of the chalice: With a combination of retirements, moving away, and ill health both congregations are seeking new people to assist with administration of the chalice. Please speak to Alex if you would be interested to assist.

A cross in my pocket (Biddenden) Some beautiful small crosses have been created for you to carry in your pocket or bag. A selection of these is now available at the back of All Saints. Money in the chest please.

Help needed: We continue to seek someone to deal with the administration for Church floodlighting donations in Biddenden. Please speak to Alex or Catherine if you can help. You need to be able to use a computer and simple spreadsheet.

St Michael’s Guild AGM: Thursday 26th January 2pm at Forge House, The Street, Smarden. All welcome.

St Michael’s Guild are planning ahead! This year is the Christmas Tree Festival year, so please could we ask the marmalade and jam makers of the parish if they would be kind enough to make extra which can then be sold on the produce stall at the Festival, this would be much appreciated. Many thanks.

Domenica Pecoraro, Kent Refugee Project Officer speaking at the Group Eucharist Sunday 29th January 10am Smarden Church.  The congregations from Bethersden, High Halden, Woodchurch, Biddenden and Smarden will be coming together for a festive sung Eucharist. We look forward to welcoming our special guest speaker Domenica, who has been appointed as result of last years Bishop’s Advent Justice appeal.

Candlemas celebrations:  The end of the Christmas season is marked by the the feast of Candlemas, traditionally celebrated on the 2nd February and we will be holding a special service on Sunday 5th February 2016 6pm in All Saints’ Church. Our candle lit service will recall the presentation of Jesus as a baby in the Temple, and the way he was welcomed and celebrated by Simeon and Anna. A Supper follows after the service in Biddenden Village Hall. Adults £7.50, and Children £4, Please let Liz Rickwood 01580 291338 know you are coming.

The Biddenden Star:  The star on Biddenden church tower continues to stay alight until we celebrate Candlemas on the 5th February 2017.

Help with Marriage Preparation day? Sat 11th Feb we run a marriage for couples being married in 2017. It will be lovely as part of our welcome, if we could have the offer of some cake which we can use for refreshments on the day. Please speak to Alex or Catherine.
