All Saints PCC is preparing to open up new areas in the Churchyard for burials. We currently have room for another 4 burials. We have sent our proposals to the Diocese of Canterbury, which will then be considered by the Commissary General for the Diocese. Part of the process requires us to consult with the community,  details of our proposal are shown in the links below, or can be viewed in church.  Please write to Tanya Ling our PCC secretary if you have any comments.

Next Saturday 19 October is the FOSC fundraiser Murder Mystery Evening at 7pm at Smarden Charter Hall. “Play by Murder Again” with food, prizes, bar and raffle. Tickets £20 at West End House Gallery or Tel 01233 770182/770695 Melanie Marden.

Next Sunday 20 October is Active Church at Smarden at 10.30am

Smarden Christmas Shopping Fair on Saturday 26 October at Charter Hall from 10am including charity stalls, crafts and gifts and of course delicious cakes and tea.

Biddenden Flower Festival review meeting will be on Thursday 31 October at 10am at All Saints church. Review of last year’s flower festival. Everyone welcome. Jeanette Oatway.

Each year on or around All Souls’ Day (2 Nov) we hold special services to remember those who have died. This year the services will take place at All Saints on Saturday 2nd November at 3pm and at St. Michael on Sunday 3rd November, at 6pm. All are very welcome. If you would like to write the name of someone you wish to be remembered there is a clipboard at the back of the church.

Saturday 9th November is the annual Biddenden Big Breakfast fundraiser at the new village hall from 9am to noon. Full English or home made toast and marmalade with tea and coffee. Remembrance Sunday is on 10th November, St. Michael at 10.50am and All Saints at 10.50am.

Love in a Shoebox 2019 We are, once again, collecting boxes for the deprived children of Moldova. Please return full boxes to St. Michaels church between 19th October and 9th November. Smarden Mattins coffee At the recent Smarden PCC meeting it was decided that there will be no coffee catchup before Smarden Mattins services unless there are special services such as Harvest, etc.
