All Saints PCC is preparing to open up new areas in the Churchyard for burials. We currently have room for another 4 burials. We have sent our proposals to the Diocese of Canterbury, which will then be considered by the Commissary General for the Diocese. Part of the process requires us to consult with the community,  details of our proposal are shown in the links below, or can be viewed in church.  Please write to Tanya Ling our PCC secretary if you have any comments.

Friends of Smarden Church Croquet Party – Sunday 25th August at Tylden Barn, 3 to 6pm. Enquiries to Hugh Perrott

Open garden, Headcorn Manor, Sunday 25 August between 2-6 pm. It’s purely social, and they will have tea and cake on offer as well.

Please note that there will be no Morning Prayer from 26th August while Alex is away. It will resume on 12th September. There will be no Mid week Eucharist this Wednesday 28th Aug.

Ride & Stride will be on Saturday 14th September. The Friends of Kent Churches organise this bike fundraising event for your local church. If you are interested in taking part search Ride + Stride online.

For the the coming Sunday’s……

Sunday 1st September, 9:15am Parish Eucharist Biddenden and 11am Mattins led by Archdeacon Darren Miller.

Sunday 8th September is education Sunday – Claudia Miller, the Head at Smarden Primary school will be speaking at the main morning service at 9:15am at St. Michael. Sharon Lewis, the head at John Mayne Primary school, Biddenden, will be speaking at the main morning service at 11am at All Saints. Services will be led by Rev’d Pearl Anderson. (8am BCP Eucharist led by Rev’d Jeanette Kennett.

Next Active Church is on 15th September at 10.30am at St. Michael.

Sunday 22nd September, is a Pet Service at All Saints Biddenden at 11am.

St. Michael the Archangel Patronal festival on Sunday 29th September 10am. Rev’d David Houghton, Alex’s former training incumbent will the guest preacher. It also coincides with a Group Service. So there will be no main morning service in Biddenden.

Harvest is celebrated on Sunday 6th October. 9:15am Biddenden Parish Eucharist and 11am Smarden Mattins. In the afternoon there is a simple All Age outdoor Harvest service 3pm for 3:30pm at Karoben Farm, Bell Lane, followed by a tea, games and other children’s activities.
