Crib figures of Mary and Joseph start on a journey around the parishes of Biddenden and Smarden at the start of advent and return to church on Christmas Eve. If you would like to take part, please let Alex or the church office know and we will put you on the rota. Mary and Joseph stay at each host for approx 2 nights.
Sidespeople are needed for services across the Christmas period at All Saints. If you are able to help, please would you kindly add your name to the list at the back of the Church.
We are looking for new members for the Biddenden PCC – if you are interested in joining and would like to know more about what the PCC do, please let Alex know.
A date for the Confirmation service on Thursday 14 March 2019 at 7pm, has been set. If you are interested in thinking about your faith and interested in confirmation, please speak to Alex.
Advent Calendars often have chocolate treats in their windows. The Reverse Advent Calendar sends the food in the other direction! Simply add a daily item of food to a basket each Advent day – at the end of Advent, add the contents to the Foodbank donations box at Church. Andrew and Eleanor Bliss will take gifts to the food bank.
This year’s Bishop’s Advent Justice Appeal: Funds will be shared between the Calais chaplaincy post and Christian Aid’s work with refugees and Internally Displaced People, and the local Kent Winter Shelter Network. For more details please see the Diocesan Outlook magazine.
Biddenden Village Carol Service will be on Sunday 16 December 6pm.
Smarden Primary School Carol service will be on Tuesday 18 December at 2pm.
Cranbrook Brass Band will play carols outside Zion chapel in Smarden on Thursday 20 December at 7.30pm.
Smarden Village Carol Service is on Sunday 23 December starting at 6pm at St. Michael.
