Thank you for all who helped welcome Bishop Trevor, and make a wonderful Confirmation Service last Monday. A photo is at the back of the church.

The Smarden Lent Lunch have now finished. Thank you for your support.

Both Biddenden and Smarden parishes are collecting for the Apollos Trust this Lent. Information and donation wallets/envelopes are available at the rear of each church. The wallets and donations in envelopes marked for the appeal will be collected over Lent and blessed and celebrated at the Easter Day service.

The Lent Course: The Lent course is now finished. But the study group will continue meeting. Details available shortly.

Those interested in joining a series of evenings watching and reflecting on the television programme: The Big Silence, please could you sign up on the sheets at the back of Church. “Many of the world’s religions believe there is one simple path that leads towards God”, says Benedictine monk Christopher Jamison, “It’s called silence” The Big Silence is a television programme that follows 5 people from varied backgrounds, none of whom are regular churchgoers, who take part in a silent retreat.

Easter Lilies at St. Michael: If you would like to donate towards a lily in memory of a loved one please call Pat Palmer (01233 770557) before 10 April. These lilies will be placed in the sanctuary as part of the Easter decorations and the names will be listed. (They can, of course, remain anonymous)

Smarden APCM will be on Tuesday 30 April. Come from 7.30pm for tea/coffee. Meeting at 8pm in the Charter Hall.

With the introduction of the Nave Altar several years ago to St. Michael, Smarden PCC would like to know your thoughts and opinions on it. Please pass on thoughts in writing to Tom or Edward.

Smarden Remembrance Book – if you would like to make an entry in the Memorial Book at St. Michael, please speak with Edward Demery for further details.

Maundy Thursday, Canterbury Cathedral, Chrism Eucharist 11am. At this service clergy renew their ordination vows, and the oils used for anointing at Baptism, Confirmation, and those who are sick are blessed. You are all welcome to attend.

Canterbury Catherdral Pass. Everyone on our Electoral roll is entitled to a pass that allows free access to Canterbury Cathedral. Application forms are at the back of church. Alex needs to sign each application.
